Excellent Teacher

Not only did I wanted to push my limits with my bike packing tour of nearly 1300 KM through 8 different countries. I also wanted to learn something. Get to know myself even more.

What i learned during my trip is that the bicycle is actually an excellent teacher for life. He teaches me to live in balance, to keep moving, to be patient, to feel resistance, to accept the power of nature, to be aware of my body , to be free, to be self-sufficient, to accept help, to choose my own way, to share, to not to go too fast or to rush too much. To Absorb the environment. To Get to know my limits and push them, to be vulnerable. To Accept that not everything is gold. To Take responsibility. That no matter how heavy the load is, no matter how steep the climb may be, always move forward as long as there is a road.

That there is no way too far and nothing is impossible as long as there is a motivation to trive my goal.

This bike ride was a dream where I was the architect, who makes it come true. It was an opportunity of financial frugality, intense human connection through survival on the road and through the local population that could receive me, exploration of the wildness and beauty of Europe, and self-actualization to become a much more compassionate human being. I looked for my soul and created this bike roadtrip as a lifestyle of adventurous radical self-sufficiency and to buy something at farmers’ markets to feed my belly instead of expensive restaurants. Sleep outside by camping wild instead of going to expensive Hotels to let me serve and pay. I don’t like Touristtraps. I just wanted to go my own way and meet locals.

Still I enjoyed the Hotel Mama where I stayed for a few days when i arrived in the Netherlands before continuing my journey, this time by car to Croatia. How my journey went, who accompanied me , you can read in my next travel reports soon!
