Crossing Borders

Early this morning I left Feldkirch in the direction of Walenstadt.

Although it will and should not become routine. Because every day is different. Every hour is different. Sometimes it’s difficult because you are on your own, conversations are daily fare and I have to laugh about that. warmshowers and couch surfers have been scarce until now. From now on, however, I hope to meet like-minded people who can host me for a night.

The bike path Signs are very well marked, so even without GPS I should be able to get to my next destination

Crossing into Lichtenstein and Switzerland i was faced with several obstacles on my tour After i got a drive by Christoph, A Bludenzer construction worker who offered me a lift in his bus, that saved me 63 hard KM over the top of the Arlberg. Without packing please, yes i will cycle it for sure. I was glad as a little child in the candy bar because i didn’t make it on my own with al those Kilo’s on my rare panier

There for today i had to do everthing on my own. not that i didn’t pedal yesterday. I pedal everyday at least 60 KM’s ore more. Depends on the trail and my mood

Because I didn’t really think and enjoyed the view more. After a 10 minute drive in Lichtenstein, my data bundle of my Phone was used up because of komoot en Spotify. It does not belong to the EU, just like Swiss does not. And i didn’t remember. ..

I had not downloaded my track and music, yes i did it now for tomorrow . I had to trust on my GPS system. And sing songs by myself. The heat and always the wind on the head meant that I could not cycle too fast. I always leave early so there is time left to find a place to sleep and enjoy the place were i headed the fullest.

The formidable Alps loominged arround me. i have a love affair with those big giants. Often flanked by rivers and streams swollen ,the road drove steadily downer and the slight nip in the air turned into a downright chill. i cycled for ours across the river Rijn. in Straight lines, the sun high in the sky burning my skin and Wind in my face who burned my legs. But it was fun! Ours driving between cornfields , open landscapes. Sometimes a E bike who crossing you.

With a sense of triumph i made it all the way to the small town Walenstadt on the Walensee the southern flank of the pass to Zurich.

The view says enough, i find a nice place on the walensee for the night. Because it will be a warm night i will sleep under the stars.
