We are living under some unprecedented circumstances for most,or all, of us. Many of us as cyclists, wanderer and just simply as humans, have been prohibited from going out for long rides or other forms of recreation. I fortunately live in an area where we are allowed to go out again. I choose to Live….
There for ; Pure freedom you can creat yourself. Get out of the comfort zone .The mountains are calling! in May you can explore exclusive nature trails around lakes. Ore when there are no mountains there are allot other places who are beautiful to discover in your own country and region. So do i…
Slowly the first rays of the sun sweep over the mountain peaks, turning gray rocks into pinnacles and towers blown with pink. The dew still shimmers on the meadows as I climb on my bike, to climb a long way across the pass. Experience the magic of the mountains and choose all facets that are possible to let me discover new ones. In the meantime I always look to find a nice place to open my bivak. A tent night under the starry sky is one of the trophies of my micro tour.
This time I take the tour from Jennbach in Tyrol, high up the Alps until the Achensee, the road is a pass from 31 km not all to steep but also not to easy. You pass some beautiful small villages where you can make a break.
The Achensee is the largest lake in Tyrol. It is embedded between the Rofan and Karwendel mountains. The scenery is therefore simply terrific.
Whether summer or winter, biking or hiking – in such a wonderful landscape, the heart of each one simply beats higher!
More information about the region can be found at: https://www.achensee.com/
Wonderful bike path along the Achensee with beautiful views of the mountains welcome me after struggeling a few ours peddaling the pass. I ask myself always how it will look like when i beat the pass. It is my motivator during the ride.
Back to my new way of discovering the country during these times of lockdowns and exit restrictions, Adventures like these on the doorstep are not a reinvention of the wheel, new is just the term microadventure. For me, a micro adventure takes 8 to 48 hours. I don’t use a car or just only to sleep in because a tour starts in a region too far away from where I live but i only cycle all day where i lay down my tent. Later after the crisis i want to do it without a car as i always did before. And also try how far I can go in 24 hours. This is not possible without a certain basic level of fitness, otherwise it would be really crazy. So i train everyday to get in good shape.
i love such tours. you cycle through fantastic landscapes and in between you are rewarded with good food. Eather i cook and prepair it my self ore there is a farmhouse ore a small restaurant nearby.
The main thing is that I am surrounded by nature. I want to go somewhere else to think that is not possible and certainly not with a bike. Having a feeling for freedom is very important to me and I do not avoid obstacles. I’m trying to find one. Does not go, it is not possible, does not exist in my vocabulary.

Breaking through the working day, you don’t have to ask unusual questions. where do I freshen up in the morning, Do I sleep well. take how it comes and make somethingout of it. and somehow you feel fresh in the morning. By taken a swimm in the lake for example . Take your breakfast outside your tent.
Camp is in harmony with nature. the smell of fresh coffee mixes with fresh morning air while the first rays of sun warm you up. you only need a comfortable place where little to no people come and you have enough outdoors to find such places , just need to search a little, maps help , in the heather of my website you can find one. Wildcamp is not reimbursed everywhere, bivak is and that is enough for a micro bike adventure. You only need a sleeping bag a small tent ore hammock. It is a lot of improvising and no space for luxury. But give the ultimate freedom feeling. I Prefer a hammock in the summer. you hung it up quickly and with a plan you can cover it like a roof. It is practical – you sleep well and it take little time to pack it again, and it doesn’t weigh much either what is imported by bike packing.
You can go where you want to go to discover and see beautiful places. All you need is the right attitude and go step outside , choose to live!
